If you weren’t able to make the ChAMP Partnership day on 9 March 2015, this short video will give you a flavour of the atmosphere.
Presentations and posters from the day are now also available giving an overview of the latest developments and impact of Chalcogenide research and development
Combining with the Photonex Southampton exhibition, brought 231 people to the CHAMP partnership day on 9 March to mark the launch of the project to advance the manufacture of Chalcogenide glasses and demonstration their applications – a record breaking audience for such an event at Southampton.
Prof Brian Hayden explaining the potential of hIgh throughput screen of advanced material compositions and how it can be applied to Chalcogenides
Talks from the work package leaders at Southampton, Heriot-Watt, Exeter, Oxford and Cambridge Universities were welcomed by an audience including over 100 representatives from across UK industry. Industrial partners also provided valuable insights into how these glasses can be processed and what is driving their adoption in both passive and active applications.
Presentations from the day will be posted here shortly.
ChAMP would like to thank partners, presentors, exhibitors and all the University and Xmark Media staff who made the day such a sucess.
The Chalcogenide Advanced Manufacturing Partnership project will be launched with an open industry day and conference on 9 March 2015 at the University of Southampton. The day will feature presentations from the academic and industry project partners in sessions on:-
- Understanding Chalcogenides
- Chalcogenides in industry
- Emerging applications
- Working together
- plus opportunities to tour the Zepler Institute clean rooms and composite materials facilities at the University of Southampton.
For details see the full on-line program. The event is free to attend but advanced on-line registration is required.
The day will run alongside Photonex Southampton, featuring an exhibition of 30 companies dedicated to photonics technologies, lasers, optics, optoelectronics, advanced materials and imaging plus Professional development photonics tutorials being presented by companies and industry specialists.
Photonex Southampton is co-located with an open day on specialist glasses and takes a closer look at the next generation of advanced optoelectronic materials and light technologies.
The first Photonics Technology Roadshow in 2015 brings together a commercial exhibition of 30 companies and an open day for the launch of an ESPRC funded project on the Manufacturing and Application of Next Generation Chalcogenides – a one-day-only event at the University of Southampton on Monday 9 March.
Celebrating advanced materials and light technologies, this event is a key date in the
International Year of Light diary.
